South Indian cinema is ready to win over audiences across the world in 2025 with the same innovative storytelling larger than life action, and emotion-packed storylines that set it apart. The Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Malayalam film industries are looking forward to presenting another cinematic treat for the crowds. Here is a list of the major upcoming South Indian movies to keep an eye out for in 2025.
The year promises a lineup of high-profile sequels, fresh collaborations, and intriguing new projects featuring some of the biggest stars in Indian cinema. For instance, Ram Charan, the star of global blockbuster RRR (2022), is kicking off the year with Game Changer, a political action thriller.
Also on the list is Lokesh Kanagaraj’s Coolie, which brings together two superstars: Rajinikanth and Nagarjuna. Directed by Lokesh Kanagaraj, the movie is an action thriller and will be the 171st film of Rajinikanth’s career.
Then, another superstar Vijay is coming with his 69th film, tentatively titled Thalapathy 69. Also starring Pooja Hegde and Bobby Deol, the movie is slated to be Vijay’s final movie before he enters politics.
Also featuring hopefully electrifying performances of these and other stars including Prabhas, these South Indian movies releasing in 2025 are all set to please both critics and the masses.
